    The MTSA is pleased to announce the 2023 Honors Recital, a performance made up of the most hardworking and dedicated students of MTSA teachers.

    The recital will be held in the St. Cecilia Academy Theatre on February 5, 2023, from 2–4 p.m. There will be a brief intermission and a reception will follow the recital in the Theatre Lobby. 

    Teacher nominations for students will open November 28th. The Honors Recital will also feature the winners of the 2nd annual MTSA Concerto Competition conducted by and accompanied by a string orchestra of MTSA teachers and interested area professional musicians.

    We hope you will join us for this afternoon of wonderful music!

    MTSA Concerto Competition Winners:



    Kylie Hayter will perform Vivaldi's Concerto in G minor, movement I Sofia Jenson will perform Vivaldi's Concerto in A minor, movement III,

    MTSA Winter Play-Down

    Join us in the beautiful Mabry Concert Hall at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN (map) for a Suzuki play-down! We will all join together to play selections from the Suzuki violin, viola, cello, and brass repertoire. A teacher social will follow.

    Registration for this event is free and required. Both MTSA member and non-member students, parents, and teachers are invited to register and attend. Use the button at left to register, and then you will receive the repertoire list and further details about the event by email.

    Attending teachers (including violas & cellos) are invited to submit repertoire recommendations based on anticipated attendance from your studio to fred@sienkiewicz.org. Please also let us know if you would like to lead a piece! Likewise if you are a Suzuki teacher for a different instrument and would like to participate, please reach out and we will make all efforts to include your studio.
