The Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nashville is hosting their 16th BACHanalia festival in April. The BACHanalia is six hours of free live music of Johann Sebastian Bach, open to the public,, featuring dozens of performers and groups presenting a wide variety of Bach’s music.

The MTSA is organizing a performance of Bach's double concerto as part of the BACHanalia program. All local violin students, teachers, and enthusiasts are welcome to join us!

To participate, please register for this event. MTSA membership is encouraged but not required to participate.

Schedule – Friday 4/19

4:00pm: Arrive, park, make your way backstage
4:20pm: Run-through in the basement of Christ Church Cathedral
5:26pm (approximately): Performance on the BACHanalia program

Attire: Casual black pants, skirts and colored tops
Music: MTSA will NOT provide music stands. If you need one (bring your own stand and your own copy of the music.) Note: It does NOT have to be memorized.
Parking: Parking is tricky. There is limited parking available directly behind the church. Plan to carpool or rideshare.
Entrance: The entrance for performers is along the left/west side of the church. From the main entrance, go up broadway and then walk up the parking lot on the left side.

If you are a teacher, please encourage your students to register here on the website. Registration will ask which part (1st or 2nd) you prefer to play, or if you could play either. We will have a large group of students, teachers and professionals playing and will divide the parts equally. In year's past, we've had about 25+ violins, violas on each part. Low stress. It's going to be fun!

There are refreshments provided by BACHanalia for all performers backstage.
