2022 MTSA Honors Recital and Honors Recital Nominations

Student Nominations

Teachers may nominate up to three students, in order of preference, by registering for this event. Teachers must include full details of the pieces to be performed by the nominated students at the time of registration. Nominations will open December 6th, 2021 and close on January 6th, 2022.

Criteria: Teachers should nominate committed student(s) who practice consistently and work hard for high achievement, regardless of level (Pre-Twinkle, Intermediate or Advanced).

The MTSA Honors Recital Committee will notify teachers regarding how many of their nominated students will have the opportunity to perform  (based on recital length) by January 20th, 2022.

Attendance and Reception

By accepting the teacher's nomination, student, parents & guests, agree to attend the ENTIRE recital, staying to the end, out of respect for ALL performers.

A reception will follow the recital.

Policies on Accompanists, Rehearsal, and Accompanist Fees

By accepting the teacher's nomination to perform a work with piano accompaniment, the student and parent agree to the following policies:

• The student will perform with the piano accompanist provided but the MTSA Honors Recital Committee. (Exceptions permitted only for students living out-of-state)
• Rehearsal with the pianist is required to perform.
• Piano rehearsals will be scheduled for Friday, February 4th, 2022.
• The pianist's fees are covered by the MTSA.
• If a student cannot attend the MTSA-scheduled rehearsal, the parent must schedule an alternate rehearsal directly with the pianist and will be responsible for payment directly to the pianist for this alternate rehearsal time.
• Any alternate rehearsals must also occur on or before February 4th, 2022.
